Chisel types
There are carving knives , which are mainly used for chip carving and carving small ornaments. The patterns for some of them can be found in the carving knives section. The spoon carving knives also belong here. They have right- and left-handed types.

There are knives for making linocuts and woodcuts. These usually have pear shaped handles and they are driven into the material with manual force instead of using a mallet. They come in many types too.

Sculpting chisels . They come in the widest array of types. They are very divers in terms of size, shape and edge mark.

Woodworking chisels . Chisels with wide, flat edges, gouges and V-tools.

The carving of a "Székely gate" needs entirely unique tools. They don't have a wooden shaft, they are made of steel and used with a mallet.
